Kutaisi opened the 7th round of the Superleague with a victory

7th round of the Superleague started today in Kutaisi. Mgzavrebi went to Imereti to play with locals. The guests just had one victory in the current Superleague and it stayed the same way after today’s match. Kutaisi, trained by Kote Tughushi, gained such a huge advantage after a very successful first half, that they didn’t face any difficulities until the end. Kutaisians won the match 87:77, which was their 3rd victory after 6 matches held in the current Superlague.

Kutaisi won the first period with the leadership of James Milliken 25:13 and even increased the difference in the second quarter at the expense of fast attackes and accurate long-range shots. Imeretian club was winning 55:30 for the big break, which almost ment victory.

Although Mgzavrebi tied the game, winning remaining two period 27:16 and 20:16 respectively, but they weren’t able to bring it to the end eventually. Buba Berishvili’s team lost the 6th match in the current Superlague and takes the last place in the standings for now.

James Milliken led the winners with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Shawn Roundtree scored 14 points. Beqa Beqauri had 13 points and 9 rebounds. Darel Combs was the most effective with 20 points in Mgzavrebi. Taj Spencer scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

3 matches of the 7th round will be held tomorrow, on November 23 at Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
