There is only one regional pair in the Super League Playoffs: Rustavi-Batumi, among which the winner will gain a semi-final ticket. Rustavi hosted Batumi today and defeated with 20-points difference – 82:62.
Batumians advanced in the beginning, but then, the hosts’ American legionary, Tyrell Nelson became unstoppable. He helped his team to gain a control over the game. After winning the first period 24:21, Rustavi continued with a better pace. They won the second quarter 20:15 and took a 8-point advantage before the big break. The difference was not big, Batumians had a chance to tie the game, but in the 3rd period the fate of the match was already decided. Rustavi gained 19-points lead.
Finally, Rustavi defeated Batumi 82:62 and advanced 1:0 in the series. Tyrell Nelson led the winners with 33 points and 16 rebounds. Adam Blazek scored 16 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds. Stefan Andrejevic was the most effective with 22 points and 9 rebounds in Batumi. Spencer Collins scored 13 points.
The second match of these teams will be held on May 8, in Batumi. If the Batumians win, the decisive match will be held in Rustavi again. If not, Rustavi will play in semi-finals.
