Kvemo Kartli team “Rustavi 1991” is undefeated in Super League. Team coached by Anatoli Boisa and Mixeil Berishvili defeated “Tulips” in first tour of the championship. Today they have faced “Vera” and beat opponent convincingly by 82:71 (Statistics) and became the leader of the standings. Rustavi was playing without head coach in the first period. Anatoli Boisa was banished with 2 technical fouls due to protesting one of the episodes with referee. His assistant, experienced coach Mikheil Beruashvili took lead of the game.
Vera was winning by 8:2, for that moment. Team continued their successful game in the first period and finished first quarter with a 7-point lead – 27:20. From next period, the Rustavi increased pace, improved their defense. Time by time, it was becoming increasingly difficult for Vera to score. As a result, the Vera lost their leadership. Rustavi won the second quarter by 26:15 and left for break as leader.
Rustavi continued to play successfully in the second half as well. It’s true, that they were missing most of free throws, but were scoring better from the field. In the third quarter, the Kvemokartlians left their opponent even further behind and faced the final ten minutes with a 10-point advantage.
In the 4th quarter, Vera could not change anything. Guga Patashuri had the best result, scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Anzor Nadiradze collected 16 points, while Luka Bulashvili contributed 14 points and 7 assists. As for Vera Jamir Coleman had best result in his team – 18 points. Vakhtang Gogberashvili scored 16 points and 9 rebounds.
