The first match of the 16th round of the Super League was held in Rustavi today. Rustavi and Olimpi – the direct competitors met each other. The match was very tense and interesting.
The guests won the first period 19:17. The second quarter was almost equal. Rustavi won 21:18 and gained 1-point advantage before the big break. The leader was’t identified in the third quarter too and it was clear, that the equal fight would continue till the end.
At the last minute, Rustavi managed to gain a slight advantage. Morris Hill’s three-pointer reduced the difference to 1 point, however, Rezo Chachanidze scored both penalty and Rustavi advanced 75:72. The meeting ended with this account. Olimpi couldn’t manage to attack.
Brian Bernard led the winners with 18 points. Rezo Chachanidze accumulated 15 points. Adam Blazek and Tyrel Nelson scored 11-11 points each. Morris Hill was the most effective with 20 points and 11 rebounds in Olimpi. Givi Baqradze scored 15 points. Revaz Rogava had 13 points.
The remaining 3 matches of the 16th round will be held on January 27th at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace, and the second round of the Super League will be finished.
