Georgian U16 Team Defeated Estonia By 10 Points
Georgian U16 Team won first game in FIBA U16 European Championship (“B” Division). Team coached by Irakli Cherkezishvili and Dimitri Jakobov faced Estonia and defeated opponent by 10 points – 69:59 (Statistics). Victory after 2 loses gave Georgians hope to qualify from the group but for this Austria should defeat Hungary and Georgians should win over Austria.
There are 2 more rounds of group stage ahead. For now with 3 victories Belgium is the leader of the pool. Hungary and Austria have won 2 and lost 1 game. As for Georgians defeated Estonians by 10 points and our team was leading during whole game.
Avtandil Bakhtadze with 27 points and 16 rebounds was the most vulnerable player of our team. Nikoloz Abuladze collected 12 points. As for Luka Mujirishvili and Guram Tskhadadze they scored 7 points each.
August 14th is day off at the tournament. Georgians will hold next game on August 15th against Austria.
