Bank of Georgia has become the main partner of the Georgian National Basketball Federation. A 4-year contract was signed between the parties today. Within the framework of the cooperation, Bank of Georgia will support both the National Federation and the youth teams until 2025 and will provide them with the necessary resources for the development of athletes.
More specifically, with the financial support of the Bank, it is planned to build and maintain infrastructure of the international standards for the training bases of the Georgian national and youth teams; Creation of the official television of the Federation; Creation of a basketball club to participate in international club tournaments (FIBA vertical), etc.
In addition, the necessary infrastructure projects will be implemented to support the regional development of basketball, including renovating regional basketball arenas and equipping them with inventory.
It’s noteworthy that during this partnership, Group A games of the European Championship 2022 will be held in Georgia for the first time in the history of the country, in the framework of which, along with the national teams of Spain, Turkey, Russia, Belgium and Bulgaria, the Georgian national team will also participate.
