Georgian National Team Will Travel To Iceland With 14 players
World cup qualifiers tournament awaits Georgian National team. Upcoming matches have huge importance for team coached by Ilias Zouros, specially game against Iceland, which is our direct opponent in fight for qualifying to world cup.
Georgian National team will hold first game of 5th window against Iceland, which will take place in Reykjavik on November 11th, at 23:35. Our team will travel back to Georgia immediately after the game with charter flight, in order to host Italy on November 14th. Italy, which together with Spain is one of the leaders of our group will face Ilias Zourose’s team in “Tbilisi Arena” at 19:00.
Georgian National team members will gather directly in Iceland on November 7th. Player will arrive in capital from those countries they are currently residing in. The ones playing in Georgian Super League, legionnaires and coaches will meet each other in Munich airport and travel to Reykjavik together. During 4 days before the game, our team will have intense training sessions and afterwards face its opponent, in “Laugardalshall”. Iceland has 1 victory more then Georgian National Team, and most likely one of the facing teams will gain the right to qualify to next world cup. Current world and Europe Champion, Spain and Italy are holding first 2 places in the pool.
Happy news for Georgian fans is that, Tornike Shengelia, who was injured during previous qualifiers game against Netherlands, is back on the court . Shengelia will play for his club “Virtus Bologna” before joining national team in Reykjavik, on November 10th. 2 days before Tornike’s arrival, Giorgi Sharmadini and Thad Macfadden will arrive in Iceland from Spain as well. the identity 12 players who will play for upcoming important game will be announced one day before the game.
