Georgian National Practiced in Laugardashall

The training of the Georgian basketball team in “Laugardashall” lasted for two hours and turned out to be quite productive. The arena, where Iceland will host Georgia on November 11, accommodates only 2,000 spectators. The arena only has stands on one side and as the president of the Icelandic Federation stated, everyone is waiting for the new hall to be built soon.

On today’s training Ilias Zuros spent a lot of time working on combinations and playing two-side basketball. As usual the main focus, was on defense, which is the starting point of the Greek specialist’s basketball philosophy. Tomorrow, in the morning, our team will work out in the fitness hall, and some time will be devoted to target shooting as well. The general training is planned in the evening with the national team captain Tornike Shengelia, who will to play in the Euroleague today and afterwards take the first flight for Iceland.

We remind you that Iceland has 1 more victory than Georgia and everything is pointing out that one of opponent two teams will advance to the World Championship from our group. Most likely, the current European and world champions Spain and Italy, who are sharing the1st-2nd places in the group, will qualify for world cup championship.
