Georgian Basketball Federation Hosts FIBA Europe Board Meeting: Working Visit of FIBA high ranking guests

For the first time in its history, the Georgian National Basketball Federation is hosting a meeting of the International Basketball Federation – FIBA Europe Board. FIBA Europe President Turgay Demirel and FIBA Europe Executive Director Kamil Novak arrived in Georgia for the event.

FIBA Europe Board is composed of Presidents and Secretaries General of European Basketball Federations. The Secretary General of the Georgian National Basketball Federation, Giorgi Kartrvelishvili, is also a member of the FIBA Europe Board as well as the President of the FIBA Europe Legal Commission.

Within the framework of the visit, FIBA Europe executives are meeting representatives of the Government of Georgia, and getting updates about the construction process of the arena for FIBA EuroBasket 2022.

The visit of the leaders of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to Tbilisi and the holding of the meeting of the Board in Georgia is an important event that confirms the special attention and confidence in Georgian basketball.
