The President of Georgia visited the new, modern standard basketball arena in Tbilisi, which is being constructed for FIBA EuroBasket 2022. The arena will host the FIBA European Championship 2022.
The President of the Basketball Federation, the Secretary General and the representative of the construction company informed the President of Georgia about the construction process of the arena.
As it is well known, with the joint coordination of the President of Georgia and the Government, Georgia has won the right to host the next FIBA EuroBasket and a new basketball arena with modern standards and equipment will be built in Georgia for FIBA EuroBasket 2022, which will accommodate more than 10,000 spectators.
The construction of the arena is monitored and inspected by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). In December 2021, a meeting of the FIBA Executive Board will be held in Georgia, the members of which will finally evaluate the newly built arena for EuroBasket. From February 2022, the qualifying rounds of the World Cup, the European U-20 Championship and the FIBA EuroBasket are planned to be held in the new arena.
