Georgian U16 team finished their Latvian training camp by defeating Latvians. In total team coached by Irakli Cherkezishvili and Dimitri Jakobovi held 3 games and won all of them. Georgians first beat Estonia and then defeated Latvia twice.
It should be outlined that Latvia is playing in “A” division and is preparing for final round of championship. Our team is competing in “B” Division and will play in Sofia, Bulgaria on 11-20 August. Opponents of Georgian Team are: Estonia, Cyprus, Hungary and Austria.
As for today’s game, outcome was decided in last minutes. Play was very tense. Before last period score was equal, but at last minutes Georgian Players were able to defeat elite team by score 66:63.
Nikoloz Abuladze with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists was most vulnerable player in our team. Gogita Bukia scored 16 points and 5 rebound, Luka Mujirishvili contributed 8 points.
After coming back from Latvia, Georgian U16 team will continue to prepare for European Championship, “B” Division.
