Georgian U18 Team defeated Ireland and went to playoffs
Georgian U18 team went to European Championship playoffs. Georgians met one of the concurrent – Ireland in the final round of the group phase and defeated them 77:63. Temur Kankia’s team won 4/5 matches of the group phase and took the second place after North Macedonia.
Georgians were winning 3 points after the big break. At the beginning of the third period they lost points but managed to tie the game soon and gained leadership again. Georgians won the third quarter 14:11 and met the decisive period with 6-points advantage.
Our team increased the differene even more in the final period, the difference reached 14 points. Lasha Miqeladze and Rati Andronikashvili led the winners. They both had double-double – Andronikashvili – 13 points, 11 rebounds, Miqeladze – 10 points, 15 rebounds. Alexandre Merkviladze scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
