After forced brake cause by Pandemics, together with other fields, basketball activities are also coming back to its rhythm. As usual, during summer, tournaments in various age groups- U16, U18, U20, are held. One of such U20 championships takes place in Tbilisi, while U16 and U18 teams are competing abroad.
U16 team is also getting ready for the matches of Division “B” which has gathering in Latvia right now. During preparation period, our team is holding sparing matches. On July 14th Georgia faced its future opponent, Estonian and won the match. Team coached by Irakli Cherkezishvili and Dimitri Jakobov convincingly defeated rivals with score 79:60.
We should distinguish Nikoloz Abuladze from our team as he managed to score 15 points, 7 assists, 3 steals and became most vulnerable player. The only double double of the match was scored by Avtandil Bakhtadze, who collected 10 points and 10 rebounds. One more player who earned 10 point is Aleksandre Daushvili.
Georgia will compete in U16 “B” division from august 11th till august 20th and tournament will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria. During group phase our team will face Austria, Estonia, Hungary, Cyprus and Belgium.
