Tornike Shengelia: "The Training Camp Is Going Well I Believe That The Second Part Of The Training Will Be Even More Beneficial."

Tornike Shengelia:

Georgian National Team’s training camp in Slovenia continues. Ilias Zouros’ team has excellent conditions to prepare on high level. We have scheduled several friendly games before the official matches on August 24th and 27th. The first will be against Hungary on August 5th in Kecskemet, where our team will travel by bus.

Training is in full swing, and the head coach and his assistants are primarily focused on different combinations and defensive strategies. The coach of physical conditions and strengthening adheres to the initial plan and works to improve the physical condition of the players. The doctor’s team is also working hard to improve physical conditions, beginning with proper feeding, relaxing massages and individual plans.

Sandro Mamukelashvili joined team for 2 days already. According to new NBA regulations he will have right to train with National Team after august 4th. Sandro is accompanied by one of Milwaukee Bucks coaches who trains Mamukelashvili individually before entering the court. Afterwards he only trains shooting skills and so-called 5-0 combinations, in which players do not make direct contact with one another.

Giorgi Tsintsadze is also feeling better. He missed the entire season due to a leg injury, as well as qualification games against Spain and Ukraine. He is gradually getting into shape, and his main goal is to play in EuroBasket..

Captain Tornike Shengelia positively evaluates team’s preparation:

“The training camp is going well. We’re preparing both, tactically and physically, and I believe the second part of the training will be even more beneficial.”
