Finalists of Georgian Cup are already known. Titebi joined Mgzavrebi today. Accordingly, Georgian Cup will have a new owner. Neither Mgzavrebi nor Titebi had ever won this title before.
The team trained by Lasha Gamkrelidze gained a ticket for finals thanks to their heroic play. Titebi was losing against the vice-champion Kutaisi 0:1, but they won in Tbilisi first and then gained a ticket for finals after a very convincing victory.
It’s noteworthy that Titebi gained the leadership from the beginning and kept it throughout the game. Kutaisi, trained by Kote Tughushi was trying to change the situation, but Titebi didn’t give up tjeir positions. Ilia Londaridze, Kaheem Ransom, Beso Lezhava, Luke Moyer and their teammates were playing perfectly both in defense and offense.
3 minutes before the end, Luke Moyer scored a three-pointer and the score became 102:88 in favor of Titebi, which decided the fate of the match. Kutaisians only managed to reduce the difference in the last minutes and eventually lost 97:102. Kaheem Ransom led the winners with 27 points and 10 assists. Beso Lezhava scored 19 points. Luke Moyer had 17 points and 8 assists. Teimuraz Babunashvili contributed a lot in Titebi’s victory, he scored 5/7 three-pointers and avoided lots of problems to his team.
Akaki Dvalishvili was the most effective with 33 points and 12 rebounds in Kutaisi, however his team left the Cup competition.
Final match where Titebi and Mgzavrebi meets will be held on April 27, 15:00 at Tbilisi Olympic Palace. The winner team will become a Cup owner.
