5th victory in a row – Olimpi among the leaders

3rd match of the 8th round of Superlague is finished. Olimpi, trained by Dimitri Jakobov, Davit Rogava and Dito Vatcharadze, gained a convincing victory against Titebi – 71:56. After starting the Superleague with two losses, this was Olimpi’s 5th victory in a row, which is the highest result of the current championship. None of the teams made 5 matches without losing. Accordingly, Olimpi took a place among the leaders.

The meeting started with the advantage of Olimpi 8:0, but Lasha Gamkrelidze’s team managed to tie the game and even advance at the end of the quarter 17:15. That’s when Olimpi changed the situation with effective offenses and successful long-range shots. Olimpi gained 2-points leadership before the end of this period and after 2-minutes break they managed to set control over the match.

Olimpi increased its leadership to 7 points in the second period, however, they had higher resources both in offense and defense. Kakha Jintcharadze, Davion Turner, Kory Holden and Revaz Rogava were active in a back line, while Akiean Frederick was playing under the reem. Olimpi was leading by 13 points before the final period and eventually, they finished convincingly.

Finally, Olimpi won by 15 points. Akiean Frederick led the winners with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Kory Holden scored 13 points, Davion Turner and Kakha Jintcharadze had 10-10 points each. Tristin Walley was the most effective with 17 points and 11 rebounds in Titebi. Teimuraz Babunashvili scored 14 points.

Remaining two matches of the 8th round of Superleague will be held tomorrow, on December 1, at Tbilisi Olympic Palace.
