3×3 basketball season has officially opened in Georgia. The first calendar tournament of the season Tbilisi Fall 2020 was held on October 15 and 16 at Lisi Lake, organized by the Basketball National Federation and it was quite representative. 21 teams took part in the tournament, they were divided into groups in the first stage, and the best ones continued to fight from the playoffs to reveal the winner.
Teams Scooby and GiGi went to the finals. The victory was left to Scooby, whose honor was defended by Davit Dadunashvili, Mamuka Bazuashvili, Davit Maisuradze and Bili Aliyev. The latter suffered an injury on the first day of the tournament and could no longer play in the playoffs, although the experienced Scooby still had no trouble winning and received a cash prize along with the championship cup.
The winners were awarded with a cup and a 500 GEL voucher by Giga Gurgenidze, Head of the 3X3 Basketball Department of the Georgian Basketball National Federation. The second place-holders – GiGi players were awarded 300 GEL. The next 3×3 basketball tournament according to the FIBA calendar will be organized by the Georgian Basketball National Federation at the end of October.
