3X3 U18 Europe Cup Prize Ceremony

3X3 U18 Europe Cup came to an end. The tournament, which was hosted by Tbilisi for the first time, ended with the victory of Lithuania and Spain. These countries managed to win gold medals: Boys’ Team of Lithuania and Girls’ Team of Spain.

Playoff matches were held on September 8, the decisive day of the tournament. Playoff matches turned out quite tense and spectacular. Some of the matches ended with overtime. In the girls’ finals, Spain and Germany met each other, while Lithuania and France played in boys’ finals.

Audience of Rike Park saw a great fight in both matches. At first, champion was revealed in girls match. Spain defeated Germany 17:16 in a very tense battle. While Lithuania defeated France 21:14 in another final match between boys.

The award ceremony was quite emotional and impressive amidst the crowded tribunes and spectators’ ovations. The event ended with prizes and beautiful fireworks. The winners of the tournament were awarded by FIBA-Europe Executive Director Kamil Nowak, President of the Georgian Basketball National Federation – Paata Guraspauli and Secretary General – Giorgi Kartvelishvili, as well as President of the 3X3 Basketball Federation – Giga Gurgenidze.

The Europe Cup was held under the auspices of the International Basketball Federation – FIBA. The event was organized by Georgian Basketball National Federation, Georgian 3X3 Basketball Federation and the Local Organizing Committee of the Europe Championship in 3X3 Basketball. Europe Cup in Tbilisi was held with the support of  the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Tbilisi City Hall.

 (MVP)

MVP of the 3X3 U18 Europe Cup (in girls) became Spanish Marta Garsia, and MVP (in boys) became Lithuanian Gabrielius Celka. These two and other four players (2 boys and 2 girls) were awarded with medals and symbolic prizes as the team of the tournament by the Secretary General of Georgian Basketball Federation – Giorgi Kartvelishvili.

Third place

Third place winner teams of 3X3 Europe Cup 2019 are Russia (girls) and Israel (boys). President of the 3X3 Basketball Federation – Giga Gurgenidze awarded them with bronze medals.

Second Place

Second Place winner teams of 3X3 Europe Cup 2019 are Germany (girls) and France (boys). They were awarded with silver medals by the President of the 3X3 Basketball Federation – Giga Gurgenidze.

First Place

Champion Teams of 3X3 Europe Cup 2019 are Spain (girls) and Lithuania (boys). They were awarded with gold medals by FIBA-Europe Executive Director Kamil Nowak and the President of the Georgian Basketball National Federation – Paata Guraspauli.
