Semifinalists of Dudu Dadiani Memorial were revealed today. The match between TSU and Kutaisi made it all clear. Before that, Cactus defeated Rustavi 98:90 and took away their chance to succeed.
Cactus, trained by Archil Jghenti, showed a strong and fighting spirit. After losing at the very final moment with Dinamo in the first round, Cactus defeated Rustavi by 8 points and took a huge step forward, despite tha fact that the latter has couple of GNT members and candidates and some of the well-trained legionnaires. If Cactus had won by 1 more point, he would have gained the first place in the group and a ticket for the semifinal round, but he wasn’t able do so and went to the second place because of personal defeat with Dinamo.
In the final match of group phase, TSU met Kutaisi. Kutaisians needed a victory with minimum of 13 points, but on the contrary, they lost by 9 points – 70:79. TSU, trained by Leqso Lapanashvili, is compiting most effectively so far. American legionnaire – Madison had a debut today in their team and managed to collect 15 points. Although, Giorgi Turdziladze led the winners with 20 points. Giorgi Korsantia scored 19 points and 8 rebounds.
TSU showed the best result among the other teams taking the fisrt place in their groups. TSU will meet Cactus, who took the second place in his group, in the semifinals. Batumi and Dinamo will play in the second semifinal match.
