Georgian U-16 girls’ team is in semifinals of European Championship C division. 7 team participate in this championship among which, Georgia is one of the favorites, so we went to the semifinals quite easily.
Our team trained by Nino Kipshidze and Shota Iaqashvili first defeated Moldova (71:37) and today, even more convincingly, defeated Gibraltar – 73:35. Georgia took the first place in group and will play against the second place owner from B group – Scotland in semifinals. Cyprus and Moldova will meet in the second semifinals.
Keso Barbaqadze led Georgians against Gibraltar, she scored 21 points, 23 rebounds and 3 blocks in 31 minutes. Noi Tsomaia collected 20 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. Tamar Papuashvili had 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Semifinal match between Georgia and Scotland will be held on July 20, 19:00 (Georgian time).
