Dinamo is in the quarterfinals, and the last ticket to the playoffs will either go to Titebi or TSU

The penultimate match of the regular season of the Super League is over, In which Dinamo defeated Cactus  94:63 (სტატისტიკა) and this match clarified a lot. Let’s follow in detail what the situation looks like in the Super League standings and how events may unfold.

Let’s start with the fact that Dinamo learned a wonderful news before the match with Cactus: Batumi lost to Olimpi, thus Dinamo reached the playoffs. Which means, even if Dinamo lost to Cactus, they would still upgrade to the playoffs, i.e. in the top 8 teams. Nevertheless, Dinamo defeated Cactus by 31 points, however, it should be noted that the result of this match did not matter to Cactus. In case of any result, this team would be in the 4th place, because it could not reach Tskhum-Apkhazeti in the third place.

Dinamo won and guaranteed taking 7th place. Muhammed Tachi’s team will not go further down to this position, which means, Dinamo will play against Kutaisi in the first, quarterfinal series of the playoffs. 

The whole fight is now for the 8th place in the playoffs. In fact there are 2 options. Kutaisi and Titebi are facing each other in the key match of the last round of the regular season. The game is in Kutaisi and if the hosts win, Titebi will finish the regular in the 9th place and accordingly finish the season, and if Titebi coached by Manuchar Markoishvili wins, they will get the last, 8th ticket to the playoffs. In case of Titebi’s defeat in Kutaisi, the last ticket to the playoffs will go to TSU and here is why:

In this case, 3 teams: Batumi, Titebi and TSU collect equal wins and losses (8-12) and the best is revealed considering the mutual meeting results. By this measure, TSU is the best and will occupy the 8th place in the Super League table. Then comes Titebi (9th position) and Batumi (10th). According to the regulations, the 10th-ranked team will play a qualifying series against the losing team in the A League final until 3 wins to maintain their place in the Super League. We would also like to remind you that Mgzavrebi who took the 11th place in the standings fell out of the Super League, they will be replaced by the winner of the A League for the next season.
