Giorgi Tsintsadze, point guard of the Georgian national team, will continue his career in Tunisian team Monastir. Giorgi Tsintsadze is record holder for the national team as he has played most games and represented most clubs among Georgian players – for Tsintsadze, the African team ranks 26th in his career. Tsintsadze was representing clubs from Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, Poland, Lebanon, North Macedonia, France, Romania, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
As for his new Tunisian team, Monastir is one of the best in the African continent. Last season they also won the local Champions Cup. In the final, the Tunisian club defeated Angolan’s Petro de Luanda by a score of 83:72, and the best player was the former naturalized American basketball player of the Georgian national team Michael Dixon, who scored 21 points. Not surprisingly, he was also named Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP). Whether Dixon will stay next season in Tunisia or nor, is still unclear.
Monastir is the current Tunisian champion, having won the title seven times in total. Last season, the team finished second in the regular season, but they were unstoppable in the playoffs, defeating Ezara 3-1 in the championship game.
Giorgi missed the entire season due to a serious injury. He is feeling better and is in Slovenia for a training camp. The rehabilitation process is complete, and he is ready to get in shape and assist the National team in qualifying games and EuroBasket.
