After the second round, there are 3 undefeated teams left in the Players Development League

The leaders emerged after the second round of the Players Development League. Out of the 11 participating teams, only 3 remained undefeated, who are the main candidates to reach the semifinals. Let us remind you that the main principle for the participants of the Players Development League is to show their abilities, prepare before the season and get in shape. For Super League assistant coaches, league games are a good opportunity to gain rich experience in leading matches independently.

Now as for the sports side of the tournament. The undefeated in the 6-team B group are Mgzavrebi and Dinamo. The first one won the first two matches quite easily, but after the easy victory over Rustavi yesterday, Dinamo had a difficult time today compared to Olimpi. The fate of the equal match was decided in the final period, where Dinamo trained by Jolivet Tujan and Kakha Tomaradze looked better and finally won 72:60.

Like Dinamo, Mgzavrebi has 2 out of 2 victories, however, due to the better ratio of balls, the latter occupies the first place in B  group. Mgzavrebi is led by Giorgi Tsintsadze, a veteran of the national team, one of the best players of all time in Georgia, who last played for Qatar’s Al Shamal, is now out of contract and is competing in the Players Development League to get in shape.

Mgzavrebi didn’t leave a chance to Batumi in the second round, they are main candidates for playoffs together with Dinamo. After the mentioned teams, Olimpi and Rustavi are coming next with each victory and loss. Rustavians defeated TSU today 88:81. Guga Patashuri’s effectiveness is noteworthy among Rustavians. He scored 33 points and 11 rebounds.

The only undefeated team in Group A is Tskhum-Apkhazeti, which easily defeated Titebi in the first round, and today defeated Kutaisi in a tense battle – 64:55. The top 2 runners-up in Group A are getting in the semi-finals, and Tskhumi, winners of 2 matches, are unlikely to have a hard time reaching the goal. As for the second ticket, there will be a big fight between Cactus and Titebi. Today, Titebi won between these two, but both of them still have 2-2 matches ahead and everything will be resolved in these confrontations.

August 19 is a holiday in the Development League. The next, 3rd round matches will be held on Thursday, August 20th.
