After the ceremonial draw of the Junior NBA-GBF League, a 3×3 basketball festival was held on the Europe Square, the members of both the A and B leagues took part in the tournament.
As you know, due to the increased interest and the large number of teams, 2 Junior NBA leagues are held in Georgia, in which 60 teams participate. Here we would like to explain that in every league, similarly to the American National Basketball Association, there are 30 teams that are divided into 6 divisions like the NBA.
In Junior NBA-GBF A League, divisions and conferences are distributed according to the regions:
Eastern Conference
Atlantic Division (Tbilisi)
Central Division (Telavi)
South East Division (Rustavi)
Western Conference
Northwest Division (Kutaisi)
Pacific Division (Gori)
Southwest Division (Batumi)
There are 5 teams in each division that will meet each other in 2 rounds and the best will advance to the playoffs. Accordingly, each team will play 8 matches in the group and 8 leading teams of the divisions will advance to the playoffs from the Eastern Conference and 8 from the Western Conference.
All series in the playoffs will be one-match. The eighth finals and the quarterfinals will be hosted by Tbilisi (Eastern Conference) and Kutaisi (Western Conference), as a result of which the 4 best teams will gather in the capital and play in the four final.
As for the B League, all its matches will be held in Tbilisi, as most of the teams are from the capital.
Division matches will start in a few days, and today the teams were given the names of the respective NBA clubs, after which they participated in the 3×3 Basketball Festival.
