Mega ("Boston") won 2022 Junior NBA "B" league Championship

 One of the most popular and significant basketball events -Junior NBA “B” league has finished. In the match for 3rd place Brooklyn (“Brooklyn Nets”) faced Lomebi (“Memphis”), Brooklyn won for 31:25. Final of the tournament took place between Mega (“Boston”) and Overtime (“Portland”). As usually, final match was quite tense and winner was revealed only in last 20 seconds of the game. Mega (“Boston”) won championship title, final score 36:32.

After the matches’, awarding ceremony took place. Representative of US Embassy in Georgia, Public Diplomacy Officer – Amirah Ismail, Ambassador of Junior NBA in Georgia, former player of National Basketball Association, Igor Rakočević, Representative of NBA – Clausia Lopez, Vice President of Georgian Basketball Federation- Vladimir Boisa and President of Georgian Basketball Federation – Viktor Sanikidze awarded participant teams special prizes.

4th Place

Lomebi (“Memphis) finished on 4th place. Special certificates were awarded to the members of the team.

3rd place

Brooklyn (“Brooklyn Nets”) held 3rd place and was awarded with bronze medals and certificates.  

 2nd place

Overtime (“Portland”) won 2nd place. Members of the team were awarded with silver medals and certificates.

First place

Mega (“Boston”) became Winner of 2022 Junior NBA “B” league 2022. Together with gold medals and certificates, little champions, just like NBA teams, were awarded with championship rings.  

Best 8 players

Traditionally best 8 players of the season were revealed after the final. Jerseys of National team were awarded to the following best players:

Brooklyn (“Brooklyn Nets”) – Achi Orjonikidze; Giorgi Sazandrishvili

Lomebi (“Memphis) – Mariam Chekurishvili; Tato Tsagurishvili

Overtime (“Portland”) – Luka Gotsiridze; Giorgi Tigishvili

Mega (“Boston”) – Andria Kochadze; Levan Amiranashvili   

The best player, MVP

Mega’s (“Boston”) member Andria Kochadze became the best player of the 2022 Junior NBA “B” League, who was awarded a special prize by the President of Georgian Basketball Federation, Victor Sanikidze.

Andria Kochadze, captain of the Junior NBA champion team – Mega (“Boston”), was presented with the championship trophy by Igor Rakočević, Ambassador of Junior NBA in Georgia, former player of National Basketball Association.
