Tskhum-Apkhazeti won the first ticket to the playoffs in the Players Development League

There is 1 round left before the end of the group stage in the Players Development League. At this stage, only one team – Tskhum-Apkhazeti has qualified for the semifinals. Tskhumi, trained by Zviad Antadze, is leading Group A with 3 of 3 victories and even if they lose in the last round, they will still be in the top 2 teams in the semifinals. Titebi and Kutaisi are fighting for the second playoff ticket in group B, among which Titebi  has better chances. These teams will meet in the last round, on August 23. Vera also has a chance to leave the group phase, which meets the leader Tskhum-Apkhazeti, but it does not depend only on itself.

It is true that Dinamo is leading in Group B with 4 to 4 wins, but the playoff ticket is not guaranteed for the team trained by Jolivet Tujan yet. In the last round, Dinamo meets Mgzavrebi, in case of losing by 14 points with them (if Olimpi defeats Rustavi), Dinamo will be left out of the playoffs. However, it should be noted that Rustavi has a chance to reach the semifinals together with the mentioned teams. In short, only Batumi and TSU are without chances in B group – Olimpi, Dinamo, Mgzavrebi and Rustavi will find out the 2 best in the last round.

Let us remind you that the main goal of the Players Development League is for players and coaches to be able to represent themselves and collaborate with clubs. Participating in the league is a good opportunity for pre-season training for players, and for coaches and club management to observe and select basketball players.
