Georgian Veterans lost with Brazil by 2 points

Georgian Veterans Team has dropped out of the fight for the World Championship. Our team lost fight in 1/8 finals of the championship held in Espoo, Finland. Brazil was our rival. Georgians were defeating them 54:49 before the decisive period, however, eventually we weren’t able to retain our advantage and lost by 2 points – 72:70.

Georgians were very close to the quarterfinals. Malkhaz Kokhreidze’s team would meet Russia there. Guliver Akhalkatsi was the most effective with 32 points. Davit Giorgobiani had 8 points. Zaza Tsagareishvili scored 7 points. Alexandre Periashvili collected 6 points.

Georgian team will play for 9-12 places now. They will held the next match on August 1, against Uruguay.
