In the next match of the first round of the Super League, Olimpi and Mega faced each other. The first match didn’t turn out to be successful for the Super League debutant. The Olympians coached by Davit Rogava defeated them convincingly – 86:72 (Statistics).
However, Mega started the meeting quite well. Thanks to the effectiveness of Demonte Flannigan, the Super League debutants advanced 22:11, which became the reason for the mobilization of the Olympians. Rogava took a minute break, after which his team corrected the game and started to reduce the gap. By the end of the initial period, Mega had 3 points left in the lead, while in the second quarter, Olimpi advanced and left the opponent behind.
Ilia Londaridze’s diligence under the cover showed a result. The way was opened for the Olympians’ back line as well, and after the second period of 26:9, Rogava’s team had 48:34 lead for a big break. The situation did not change in the second half. The maximum that the members of the debutant team were able to do was to reduce the gap to 10 points. Eventually, Olimpi won by 14 points and started the Super League with the planned scenario.
Ilia Londaridze led the winners with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Bundu Abdulai collected 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kendrick Thompson scored 16 points. Davit Lomidze had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Demonte Flannigan was the most effective in Mega with 18 points. Otar Buliava had 13 points.
