The team composed of Georgian U-16 teams left for Lithuania, where it will play in the European Youth Basketball League. The tournament was supposed to start in November, but was postponed due to the Covid-Pandemic and will start today.
The format is traditionally unchanged. There are 16 teams in the league and the regular championship will be held in 3 rounds. Teams will play 5-5 matches during each round. The first round is hosted by the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, where our team coached by Irakli Cherqezishvili expects 5 rivals:

Georgian national team left for Vilnius with the following composition:
Amiran Aroshidze, Luka Savaneli, Alexandre Shaloshvili, Niko Puturidze, Irakli Nemsadze, Guka Tskhadadze, Luka Mujirishvili, Vazha Ketchakmadze, Gogita Bukia, Alexandre Daushvili, Andria Pilauri, Bachana Shvelidze.
Avtandil Bakhtadze, who plays in Vilnius, joined these 12 players of our team who arrived in Lithuania.
It should be noted that the U-16 team of the Tbilisi club Wings is also in Vilnius. The team coached by Nika Burjanadze will also hold 5 matches. It is gratifying that Georgian youth clubs are gaining a place on the European map and participating more often in various international tournaments – Mainly in the Europe League and the Baltic League.
