Georgian U16 Team defeated Norway. Georgians won against Skandinavians in a qualifying phase of European Championship, which is held to reveal 17-24 places in the B division of the Championship. Georgians defeated their very first rival – the team of Norway with a convincing difference – 78:62 and will continue fighting for 17-20 places.
Sandro Kasaburi was the most effective in the match against Norway. He collected 15 points and 11 rebounds. Giorgi Meskhi scored 12 points. Giorgi Makhniashvili and Luka Liklikadze had 10-10 points each. Georgian Team will held its another meeting on August 16, 22:30 (Georgian time). Our team will play against Belarus. In case of victory, our team will gain right to compete for 17th place. Otherwise, Georgians will play for 19th place.
