Georgian Veterans’ Team started World Championship successfully

Georgian Veterans’ Team successfully started World Championship, held in Espoo, Finland. Veterans of many countries around the world assembled in the city of Espoo and will compete in various age categories. Georgians will perform in 50+ age group, where 28 counties gather.

Georgian team consists of: Davit Giorgobiani, Paata Guraspauli, Zaza Ghonghadze, Amrosi Ormotsadze, Niko Cherqezishvili, Levan Tsulaia, Zaza Tsagareishvili, Alexandre Periashvili, Davit Chikhladze, Guliver Akhalkatsi, Guram Vashakidze, Zura Kobakhidze, Gia Sanadze. Head Coach: Malkhaz Kokhreidze.

Georgia’s rivals in the group are Italy, Columbia and Poland. First, Georgians played with Columbia and defeated 77:56 thanks to Gia Sanadze’s effective play. Sanadze became a top scorer with 21 points. Guliver Akhalkatsi scored 17 points.

Georgian team will play against Italy on July 28. 2 bets teams will go to the next stage, 2 best third-place-owners will join them and the fight will continue from playoffs.
