The sports complex Arena hosted 3x3 basketball tournaments

Along with standard basketball, 3×3 basketball activity is also on the rise. Today, 2 tournaments organized by the Georgian National Basketball Federation were held in the Arena Sports Complex, one of which was held among the under-18s, and the other was not age-restricted.

The tournament called 3×3 spring 2021 was quite interesting. In the ageless competition, 11 teams came together, who first competed in the group stage and the best ones continued to fight from the playoffs. In the semifinals, Biodrone defeated Tura in a tense battle – 22:20, while the Bronx defeated the Black Squad 21:14.

In the final match, Bronx defeated Biodrone 21:16 and became the champion. Mikael Ugrekhelidze, Giorgi Pshavlishvili, Irakli Glunchadze and Saba Okriashvili defended the honor of the winning team. The champion team was awarded 500 GEL from the prize fund by the player of the Georgian national team in 3×3 basketball, Ilia Londaridze. Biodrone, which took the second place, received 300 GEL, which was awarded by Zuka Machaladze, the finalist of the Super League in Tskhum-Apkhazeti and a member of the 3×3 basketball national team.

6 teams gathered in the U-18 tournament. Dinamo and I Kvartali met in the final. Dinamo won 21:18 in a tense battle and together with the title of champion they also won a 500 GEL prize, the nominal voucher of which was awarded to them by the head of the 3×3 department of the Basketball Federation – Giga Gurgenidze. The honor of the winning team was defended by: Nikoloz Totladze, Sergi Ninua and Levan Pirtskheliani. The team of I Kvartali that lost in the final was awarded 300 GEL.

The 3×3 basketball season will continue actively.
