As part of its ongoing basketball development project, the Georgian Basketball Federation made a significant visit to the Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions. During this trip, led by Federation Vice-President Nikoloz Tskitishvili and head of the regional development department, the regions received innovative shooting simulators in addition to the standard basketball equipment.
This initiative is part of a broader program implemented in cooperation with FIBA’s Youth Development Fund (YDF). Under this program, the National Basketball Federation regularly visits Georgian regions, providing essential equipment such as basketballs, modern scoreboards, backboards, uniforms, and special glasses for dribbling improvement. Coaches also receive valuable tools including coaching boards, whistles, and various sports equipment.
Recognizing the importance of advanced training tools, the Federation decided to distribute modern shooting simulators along with other equipment. These simulators, manufactured in Turkey, are designed to help beginner basketball players to master shooting techniques. They are also beneficial for adults looking to improve their shooting skills.
The regions of Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti were the first to benefit from this initiative, receiving the shooting simulators along with other basketball equipment. The delegation, which included Shalva Oniani, head of the regional development department, his deputy Aleko Petriashvili, and Vice-President Nikoloz Tskitishvili, visited Rustavi, Telavi, and Lagodekhi. These cities have active basketball programs that will greatly benefit from the new equipment, further expanding their activities.
The project will continue with another trip planned to the Samtskhe-Javakheti region, aimed at supplying additional inventory and supporting local basketball development.
