Tbilisi Hosted EuroBasket Trophy Tour
From September 1st till September 7th Georgia will host 2022 European Championship in Basketball. Games of EuroBasket 2022 group “A”, where national teams of Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria and Montenegro are competing will be held in „Tbilisi Arena“.
The International Basketball Association FIBA’s traditional “Trophy Tour” took place in Tbilisi on August 11 and 12, and EuroBasket trophy named after Nikolai Semashko came to Georgia.
Ministery of Culture, Sport and Youth Affairs, Olympic museum, Tbilisi City Assembly, Georgian Basketball Federation Even Sponsor – Bank of Georgia, Federation’s Media Partner Georgian 1st Channel hosted the EuroBasket Cup. Within the “Trophy Tour”, EuroBasket championship trophy visited various landmarks in our capital, including “Gardenia – Shevardnadze” and Mtatsminda Park. Finally the cup was presented at the Georgia-Israel friendly match in Tbilisi Sports Palace.
