The first semifinalist of Dudu Dadiani Memorial is known. This is the basketball club Titebi, which started the tournament with a defeat, but won convincingly in the second match of the group stage and took first place.
The fate of the first place-owner in Group B had to be decided by the match between Tskhum-Apkhazeti and the Titebi. Tskhumi had defeated Vera 107:101, while Titebi had lost to Vera by 9 points. Consequently, Titebi needed to win by at least 11 points to get to the first place in the group, and they fulfilled this mission.
However, Titebi trained by Beso Lezhava seemed doomed. At the end of the third period, Tskhum-Apkhazeti was winning 68:63 and in the remaining ten minutes, Titebi needed to win by 16 points. Finally, Lezhava’s team won the final period 29:12 and recorded the desired result – 92:80. If they won with 10 points, Vera would have taken the first place in the group, while Tskhum-Apkhazeti should not have lost by more than 4 points in order to leave the group.
