Georgian Veterans’ Team will meet Brazil in 1/8 finals of the World Championship

Georgian Veterans’ Team went to playoffs of the World Championship and will continue fighting from 1/8 finals. Malkhaz Kokhreidze’s team, which competes in Finland, Espoo, in 50+ age category,  defeated Poland in the final match of group phase – 59:54. Georgians took the second place in the group after Italy.

Guliver Akhalkatsi became a top scorer with 16 points. Levan Tsulaia had 8 points. Amrosi Ormothadze scored 7 points. Paata Guraspauli collected 6 points. Georgian team won 2 matches out of 3 and took the second place. Italy, who won all 3 matches, went to the first place.

According to the regulations, best 2 teams went to the playoffs. The fight will continue from 1/8 finals, where Brazilians will be our rivals. The match will be held on July 31, the winner will play against Uruguay or Russia.
